FAQ
Are Aquaguard panels suitable for bathroom/wet rooms?
Yes – they are suitable for humid rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens, thanks to their moisture-resistant composite base and wood-effect finish.
However, they are splash-proof rather than fully waterproof, so they are not recommended for installation in areas with direct, continuous water contact (such as inside a shower enclosure).
Can I install Aquaguard panels in my shower?
AquaGuard panels aren’t suitable for use inside shower enclosures or in areas with constant, direct water exposure. While they’re splash-resistant, the joints aren’t fully watertight, so we recommend using them outside the shower area for best results.
Can I install Aquaguard panels using screws?
AquaGuard panels are designed to be installed using adhesive, which gives the best and safest result. Because of the material they’re made from, using screws can cause the panels to crack or become damaged, so screw fixing isn’t recommended. Adhesive installation helps ensure a smooth, secure finish.
Are Aquaguard panels the same as acoustic panels?
Although they have a similar wood-slat look, AquaGuard panels and acoustic panels are made for different purposes. AquaGuard panels are designed to be moisture-resistant and decorative, making them ideal for bathrooms and other humid spaces. Acoustic panels, on the other hand, are specially constructed to absorb sound and improve acoustics, using different materials to achieve this.
Do Aquaguard panels dampen sound?
AquaGuard panels are designed for their look rather than sound performance. While the slatted design may slightly soften sound reflections in a room, they don’t offer true sound-dampening or acoustic insulation.
Are Aquaguard panels made from wood?
No, our AquaGuard panels are not made of wood. They are manufactured from a water-resistant polystyrene composite core with a wood-effect textured finish. While they realistically replicate the look of real wood (such as “American Oak”), they contain no solid wood or timber veneer, making them suitable for moisture-prone environments.
