Most shower panels don’t need cutting due to their 1-metre width. However, if you need to set your panel and lay it flat on supports with the front-facing up, then mark out the cutting lines on the shower panel. Adds strips of masking tape to protect the edges while cutting it down to the required size.
For cutting use a straight-edge saw for best results.
There are so many benefits to using plastic wall panels in your bathroom, kitchen or home. However, here are our favourites:
- Strong durability
- Waterproof properties
- Cheap & Affordable alternative to tiles
- Low maintenance
Whilst there are no key disadvantages to PVC panels, it can often require patience, as with anything, you’ll likely need to sit and read an instructional guide before placing the first sheet.
However, it will save money as you will not need to hire a bathroom installer to complete your bathroom renovation.
Just as you would install normally, you can place your PVC Panels directly on top of ceramic & traditional bathroom tiles.
To do so, ensure you have a flat and even surface, if you do not, one suggestion could be to sand down the area before placing adhesive on the back of your panel, and placing to the tiles.
For a more in-depth guide, take a look at our covering tiles approach.
If your panels have broken, it’s not the end of the world!
First off, start by examining where the initial breaking point is, measure to see if you’re able to cut around the breakage and contionue with installation, or examine if a smaller part of the wall in your bathroom can fit the panel.
Alternatively you could attempt at using the adhesive on both areasa of the breakage and slotting together.
If you have ordered panels with us and have experienced damages, we will be more than happy to replace or refund your panels.
Whilst painting plastic panels isn’t advised, there’s no saying it can’t be done.
It’ll require some patience and more than a couple of even layers.
For best results we would advise to only paint small sections, and avoid using water based paints.
Unlike tiles, cleaning your new plastic board panels will be easy. You’ll need some warm soapy water and a microfibre cloth, rinse your panels after gently wiping with a cloth and you’re good to go.
